OPEN LETTER TO MR SHEETAL KUMAR
OPEN LETTER TO MR SHEETAL KUMAR
(Dear readers this letter is based on Sheetal’s article on the topic “Draw the line,
It’s not just pahadis that need to change their mindset” as on 2007-01-06)
– Subhash Shah
Dear Mr Sheetal Kumar,
Reading your article, I couldn’t really figure out of you being a madhesi or a pahadia as not even your proper surname is public up here on this page. As you are trying to say that madhesis should as well change their mindset towards pahadiyas and condemn any anti-pahadiyas processes, it looks like you not being ambassadorial enough or a good commentator if you are a madhesi dude. Don’t you think unless you do knee-jerk reaction, the enemies (pahadia manners so far works out to be the enemies of madhesis) as they have mistakenly already been, will assume that the madhesis are sons of cowards and born to be slaves.
The 5th paragraph of your article says “To me, it seems pretty straightforward: no talking to you folks unless you pick up arms, sow mayhem, and call for secession, a la the JTMM”. Very well appreciable. Again opposite to it, your 11th paragraph tries to convey madhesi men saying “Madhesis need to realise that they too must change their mindset and view criminality for what it is”. This is really absurd at the present state of political affairs, as you completely fail to acknowledge that the tit-for-tat activities whether it be in terms of weapons or behaviours are in fact, the most powerful armouries for the madhesis to catch the attentions of the concerned national and international bodies and at the same time help aware all the indigenous madhesis of the ongoing problems, our paramount history and the possible fate of theirs from either side.
As you see, like all the previous governments, even the latest interim government has failed to address the real nuisance of more than half of the country’s inhabitants. Whoever be the emperor or prime minister, whether it be republic or democratic, political parties or pahadia public, lecturer in college or media in the market, none of them appear adequately engrossed in taking the issues of Madhesis and provide them their proper privileges. On the contrary, they (overwhelmed Democratic Girijababu to hectic Comrade Prachanda) all are moreover busy building up new conspiracies about how to keep enslaving the madhesis. Newspapers and TVs all have been trying to overlook these matters. You know, it’s really surprising to know in a democratic country, when the media and human rights commissions are knowingly silent on such issues that could be eventually multiples of times dangerous than the Maoists are. Sorry to say, even a foreign media like BBC Nepali Service is quiet and instead of JTMM’s increasing daily violent activities and the political reasons behind the death of madhesis due to cold, the banner news is Prachanda’s visit to Jiri. Is this not all because from the panels of judges to lawyers, the Prime Minister to the ambassador and the defence secretary to home, all are pahadiyas?
With all of these happenings, you still think it is possible to get our rights by setting up our minds on anti-pahadiaism. Not at all. Unless you involve people’s war, do you think you could get your rights in this Gurkha false won and pahadia’s ruled land of Mithila? If you need federalism like NSP-A does, go and get intensively involved in Janaandolan III, make rallies and slogans against the racist pahadia administration, disregard all the public offices with all the pahadia officers in it and security stations with no madhesi police and armies at all. Thus the coerced parliament will have to finally announce the state as federal, same as the king did to announce democracy after Janaandolan II.
Or if your want independence like JTMM does, acquire yourself extremely mixed up in public riots like in Nepalgunj & Hrittik Kanda; get your armies geared up to fill their guns with the magazines. But the thing is that, whichever pitch you opt, to get the bona fide constitutional rights of the Madhesis, it is hypothetically and practically impossible for any good-for-madhesi companies to condemn any anti-pahadia actions, but just keep hushed.
The Research made by American Psychologists has shown that the feeling of hatredness is multiplied by 700 times when it is passed to the next generation (HOW TO BREAK THE CYCLE OF ABUSE, BEVERLEY ANGEL). Calculating this, since Prithvi Narayan’s takeover of Mahesh, the abhorrence of pahadiyas towards madhesis till Mahendra, geometrically works out to be 700 x 7000 times (considering 10 generations of kings). And from Mahendra to the present state of Prachanda, it seems to be multiplied by much more than 700. In this state of vigorous discrimination, if the pahadia rulers with no delays give us our proper rights, all madhesis, united we need to work together for anti-pahadiaism to create equal amount of detestation from either side or even more. Eventually, at least this is going to stop the heartfelt sons of King Janak to feel embarrassed of calling themselves proud madhesis. Not only in Nepal even out side the country whether it be the States or the UK, even a well educated and conscious madhesi is ashamed of uttering Maithili and moreover calling himself a madhesi. Regrettably, either he is scared of himself or believes the pahadiyas to be superior.
So to change this traditional pahadia trend of encroaching our culture and language, we need to support anti-pahadiaism. If not, then our culture is vanishing in the near future.
Be aware all the madhesis!!!
Help your mother, help your history.
