please encourage photo patrakarita in ur website, as this website has probably been the most visited by every loyal madhesi all over the world, and i hope you understand what photographs can do, just one photo can reflect thousand times of feelings than what thousand words can do.
please include the situations, daily andolans in major areas like janakpur, and public initiative and sahabhagita in this website,
and ofcourse do advertise this website in almost all the madhesh, who know eventually this same thing could go into a print or electronic(tv) media that could be more effective to encourage and aware all of our people from every corner

u all have become so called madhsesis just because few kms of terai territories was given to gorkha rulers by british in 1814 treaty .
the real home of yrs is india , u r not madhesis call yr self hindustanis , call for mrger of terai regions back to india .
this is the best solutions , we will make this region as a union territtory in indian federation .

simply a great job towards rehabilitation of MADHESI in Nepal.The discrimination of Mashesi in Nepal is drawing for years long however presently with help of UNIONS and other Madhesi UTHHAN partys has been worldwide made known.I thanks to all of them whoare bringing news to us,about our home ground,living abroad.
Please if available upload some more photos,videos of present revolutions if available photos of past days where we are discriminated in Nepal.

You Madhesis have right to organize protest with your genuine demand but not the way you are doing. You are not on war now whereby you are expected to target police officers with bow and bhalas. You should opt peaceful procession. What was the reasion to ambus police officer in Sunsary? If you continue troubling ordinary people, we will send additional forces to control your unruly mass. You should bear its cuensequences. As for those to whom you call martyrs, what if we label them as terrorists? How about offenders? Nobody need to understand your emotion? Please be calm and show your positive attitude. Don’t try to walk on the soldier of Gyanendra.

i like this site err blog. i salute your dedication gor the cause. but instead of copy pasting the artile you can express your own view and encourage other to write their view. this is what a good blog is supposed to do. you can add poll. initiate a debate etc.
and please write about yourself. it will bring credibility and there will be burden on you to act responsibly as well.

If we continue to threat Pahade people living in Terai and who have nothing to do with our protests and demands, it is likely that we wil face unprecedented consequences. I extremely support and stand on the Madhise side, but I fear if our people will choose right path and leader. Puppet Upendra is a danger creature for whole Madhise population. I know we have common pain accumuated since years but this is not the way in which Upendra thinks can be solved. He risked his life, future and finally whole Madhesi people. He is a showcase leader who has neither history nor realibility.

In your personality section, in political personality, I think you should also add Mr. Brikhesh Chandra Lal, a Nepali Congress Leader from Janakpurdham, Dhanusha. He is a Ex mayor of Janakpurdham, an active socio-political figure, founder of non profit community radio Janaki FM 106 MHz located in Janakpurdham. He has been actively involved in politics for more than 30 years and impsoned during Panchayat system for democracy for about 10 years.
He has been actively involved in raising the voice of madhesi rights and has written several political books on federalism, literature.

I liked the website that is for us-madhesi only. It is cool.
But still i am trying to figure out why do we really need this? It is good to know about madhes but saying damm things about pahadis doesn’t make us superior or making this kind of sites and complaining about pahadis doesn’t make us great.
We both (pahais and madhesi) are nepalese. Aren’t biharis indians? aren’t blacks american? It will be worthless for us to fight and kill pahadis in madhes because it will not yeild anything. Press government and get the rights and get ourselves recognized will help us in future. Parties like JTMM and it’s slinters, Terai mukti tiger, Terai federation of army and etc are just trying to divert our real agendas and wants to create feeling inside us that getting separate from madhesi will be better-which is bullshit?
We madhesi are intelligent ourselves and if we get rights what we deserve, i am very sure we will progess like a wind.
Any be peace and please all dear madhesi, recognize that all pahadis and madhesis are equal nepalese and the government is one we should focus to get our rights approved and implemented not the individual pahadis.

the situation u pahade people have created since very very long back that have really created a question whether u r pahadi or madhesi??
before we are nepali, we are madhesi first and there after we are nepali….
why this type of questions have come to ur mind after such long time??? pahadis have dominated madhesi since very long back….and now since madhesis come forward…then u r telling that we all are nepali…..where as earlier only pahadis were nepali and madhesis were either bhaiya or madhise or dhoti…….or….anything else

Have been a part of this blog since a long time and been a very keen supporter of Madhes. Only been away from the land and its people because of prior commitments. I am a Broadcast Journalist based in Goa & a proud Maithil.
I would be honoured if You pass on this info…
Recently I was watching Nepal 1. To my surprise, they were broadcasting an hour long Madhesi / Maithili Special on Nepal 1 – daily. I think, Nepal 1 has become the first ever channel to give that respect to Maithili. From about 7:45 am/pm everyday & night they have almost an hour long news, entertainment & live audience views – in Maithili. In India, if You have TataSky / DishTV it is available for free or else ask your cable operator and show your support.
Most importantly. isn’t this a matter of pride of for Maithil asmita, to see our language on the airwaves? I suggest we must all join together to congratulate Nalini Singh (Yes, the legendary fiery journalist and Putahu of Mithilanchal) for such a commendable effort.

I have gone through each and every post in this blog and there seem to be no one sensible enough to mitigate the communal tensions and contribute towards harmony. There is no difference in the treatment towards pahades and madhesis when it comes to the status the poor pahade in kathmandu is treated with same contempt as the madhesis are. The rich and prosperous madhesis are treated the same way the well off pahade are.
I am a newar but i was born and brought in birgunj i went to same school as a pahade with lots of madhesis frens and i never found any difference in the treatment among our frens on the basis of ethnicity we never knew anyone as bahun chhetri newar dalit madhesi or pahade.
The irony is my best friends are madhesis, and i am treated as a family member in their home.
Can anyone tell me with all the nonsense you are publishing, shouldn’t I be treated as a pahade by my madhesi friends.
All i know is there is a severe lack of rational thought and again the common madhesi are exploited for their innocence by the self declared leaders of the goons.
What has already been done cannot be undone. The best thing to do is get together the scattered fragments and mitigate the tensions get your rights and at the same time let people live in peace.
And admin guys block posts from people like Kanchan Nepali they are igniting tensions.
And for the Indian sluts like Rohit ‘comment 7’ I can only say “DREAM ON” and get your history right. After slavery for more than 200 years you think Terai is just a strip of few kilometers gifted by British it is a part of Nepal and has been independent even when you Indians were slaves of the British.
Think rationally guys.
This is your land your soil your country don’t burn it.
Or we can again go back in time as city states with kathmandu for newars pokhara for gurungs , manang and mustang for bhote, myagdi for magars, and then fragment of lands for Bhojpuriya tharus mithila and …. count on how many states you can make out of tiny nepal.

to stop spitting venom against each other. We can start
from individual level. No nonsense language from
either people of Pahad or of Terai. Lets build trust.
I am from Terai. I am for the right of people of Terai.
Its true there has been suppression from both govt level
and from individual people of Pahad, but that does not
mean we should go after them, There are other ways
to get our demand met. Such suppression was largely because
of the Monarchy system and mindset. With the fall of Monarchy
the things is changing slowly. We are already seeing the result.
Whatever we have achieved so far is all via democratic means.
So we should not support the politics of killing.
All JTMM_A…………to………..JTMM_Z are killers and looters. They are simply
looting and killing Nepalese (Madhesi, Pahade). Their leader are building houses in Patna.

I am a Madheshi from Sunsari, lots of things in my mind, read most of the post here, I am in support for the Medhesh andolan,
but few things to say here…………to all Madheshi people who loves this aandolan……
-Is it the best way to do andolan
-Are we united- they are many many parties/underground outfit operating, do anybody think that we can achive something from this, there are many of them made a profession to earn money, creating problem to other medheshi itself not even pahadi living in tarai region.
we are not united so we cannot reach anywhere, if we see any world history or even maoist war, they were united thats why they got power in 10-14 years, we madheshi are splitted on the basis of personal selfishness, do we thing we can get anything from this andolan.
In our home everyday there is ring to get ransom for different madheshi underground outfit, is it the way we will achieve something in our future. Even if we get something it wonot last long if this is the behaviour

1. Since new constitution will not be formed on time, we need to bring 1990 constitution with proper amendment. See: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Edeja1
2. For the interim period form the cabinet in the leadership of the current president. One minister for each ministry and one assistant minister for each department.
3. Representation of the political parties in the cabinet should be decided by the percentage of their representation in the current CA.
4. Dissolve CA.
5. Have an election for President, National Assembly (1 member per district) and House of Representative (1 member per 100,000 populations).
6. Forget the federal structuring of the country for now.
7. Rename the present 14 administrative zones into new administrative zones without changing the district boundaries: Mahakali, Karnali, Magar, Gurung, Tamang, Newar, Kirat, Limbu, Tharu, Lumbini, Bhojpura, Mithila and Kochila.
8. Keep only the ministries of Foreign, Defense, Home and Finance in Kathmandu. All the other ministries should be moved to the Headquarter of the Administrative Zones.

Nepal is divided into 3 ecological zones,
Mountain, Hills and Terai.
therefore, nepalese from different regions like to call themselves as
Nepali in Terai = Madhesi.
Nepali in Mountain= Himali
Nepali in Hills = Pahadi
My father is from Pahad, my mother is from Terai. I was born in Nepalgunj. SO am i a Nepali or a Madhesi or a Pahadi.
I don’t give a dammn. I AM A NEPALI . MY COLOUR MY LANGUAGE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.
Why is this issue going around.

This is a disgrace that a independent and responsible Press-man,Rajesh Ahiraj, is being prosecuted for bringing the unheard voice of Madhesh by the Government, whose constitution guarantees “TOTAL PRESS FREEDOM”
The silence of major Political parties, the… indifferent media houses, and the uninterested Human Right clearly indicates their collusion in the conspiracy against the indigenous people of Terai.
The verdict of Special Court restored the constitutional spirit by releasing the bold media person. But, the issue is Does it end here? Will it be guaranteed that media person will be protected?
Plato once said “One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.” Madhesh is facing this problem. The general availability of stupid politicians in our country (no offense for good leaders) will lead to chaos. Why didn’t the Madheshi leaders fought when voice of madhesh is being crushed systematically by the Government.
Time has Come for good and right people to stand up and speak. Time has come that we remain united as Nepali and fight against all bigotry. Time has come that the leaders, political parties and concerned authority answer to the general public for their actions and in-actions.
Hope all the concerned persons will raise this agenda.

The new book called ‘Madheshi Uprising: The resurgence of ethnicity’ by Mr Kalyan B. Mathema (2011) is a powerful document on the history of Mithila. A must for every Madheshi historian and political analyst. It links Mithila history with central Madhesh rebellion. I recommend it.
